Hi I'm Morgan

I grew up in Colorado, USA. I served as a missionary to Brazil, São Paulo Interlagos.

About Me

I'm currently a college student. I love to read and watch movies, especially Sci-Fi or Fantasy. I also draw and write. I especially love to write short stories. I play the flute and piano, and I'm learning guitar. I love to sing, but I'm really bad at dancing. I crochet and knit, and I love to do cross-stitch and quilt. I'm a generally crafty person, and I love making things.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, but I had to gain knowledge for myself. When I was about 15, I had a series of experiences in which I gained a knowledge that God exists and that He loves me. Since then, I have studied His teachings in the Bible, Book of Mormon, and the teachings of modern prophets like President Thomas S. Monson. I love this gospel, I would not be the person I am today without it. It gives me the strength I need to push on when I'm battered and broken. I know that God lives, and that He sent His beloved son, Jesus Christ, to atone for our sins. I know that through my continued devotion to Him and His Son, I can return to God, and live with Him again. I know that He will help me in this quest. I know that Joseph Smith Jr. saw God the Father and Jesus Christ, and that he brought forth a new dispensation. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet of God, and that he delivers the messages which God would have us hear. I know that this church is true.

How I live my faith

In my church, I am a 'Communications Specialist', meaning that I keep everyone in touch with each other. I send out weekly emails about events happening in our church, for the most part, and try to keep everyone updated with what's happening where and when. I sometimes get to speak in church as well. I'm a visiting teacher, with my roommate. We visit two other girls, and do service for them as well as talking and being friends. It's a wonderful opportunity to serve the other girls in my church.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes, I really do. God has always chosen prophets, from Adam, the first prophet, all through the ages to today. Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Elijah were all chosen by God to direct His Church in times past. It's no different today. Because God loves us, He still sends living prophets to help us and guide us through this world. In our time, Joseph Smith was the first modern prophet. But since him, there have been many others, up to Thomas S. Monson, who is God's chosen prophet today. He guides and directs this Church, helping us to create happier, more peaceful lives for ourselves. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Not all Mormons are required to serve a mission, but many of us choose to. Missions are completely voluntary. However, there is a very strong tradition of missionary service in the Church. Many Church members consider it a privilege to show their love for the Lord and His children by sharing the gospel throughout the world. Show more Show less

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

We need a Savior because we are not perfect. All of us make mistakes. But, because God loves us, He sent His son to suffer for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross. Through this Atonement of Jesus Christ, we are offered Show more Show less
