Hi I'm Evan Nelson

I'm from Knoxville, Tennessee. I am a huge Volunteers fan. I love photography. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born and raised in Knoxville, TN. Growing up I was an only child, but when I was 12 years old my family adopted my three siblings. I have been able to see "both sides of the coin" (if you will). I am so grateful I have been able to enjoy the camaraderie with my younger siblings. I went to an Episcopalian middle school and a Catholic high school. I have grown up with a lot of other religious influences in my life, but it has only strengthened my testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am currently serving my mission in the Colorado Fort Collins Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a youth I did not have a firm testimony of the Book of Mormon or of Joseph Smith. As a young men's group we decided to do a "Book of Mormon Challenge" and I personally committed to read the whole Book of Mormon and to pray to know if it was true. While I was doing the challenge the distinct impression came to my mind that the Book of Mormon was true. It overwhelmed me with peace and love. The Sunday after the challenge, we all had the opportunity to stand and bear our testimonies. That was the first time that I was able to say with conviction that I knew the Book of Mormon was true, that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church once again on the Earth today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being prepared to serve others whenever and wherever I am needed. I love talking to people one on one whenever they need help with something. I love to help those that are in need of help. I love talking about the scriptures or anything that has to do with spiritual things.
