Hi I'm Dakota

I am serving a mission in Taipei, Taiwan. I'm a Spider-man lover. I love traveling and trying new foods. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently serving a mission for the Lord in Taipei, Taiwan speaking Mandarin Chinese! When I get back home I will be a student hoping to go into Dental Hygiene. I love traveling the world! And actually taught English in Shanghai, China for a summer and loved every second of it. I love music, singing, dancing, acting and all other things theater. I've been in a couple musicals, though mostly just as supporting characters. I'm a total foodie and I love trying new foods, and making new foods. Some of my all time favorite things are baking and cooking for anyone who is willing to eat.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ. I know this gospel is true and I cannot doubt that knowledge. When I was younger my parents got divorced, for me at the time it was very confusing, and though it was for the best I felt like I was kind of alone. For quite a few years I struggled with trying to take one side of the family, would I choose mom or dad? Did I really have to choose a side? When I was about 11 I decided to turn to the scriptures and see what God would have me do. That summer before I turned 12 I completed the Book Of Mormon for the first time, and got both the answers I needed. First, that the Book Of Mormon was undoubtedly the word of God, and second, that God created families for a reason. Though I felt like my family was broken, from the divorce I gained a new step-father, a new step-mother, tons of new step-sibling from both of my parents new marriages, and a half brother. I have more family, and more love now because of my parents divorce than ever before. How could that be?! The only possible answer is that I truly do have a loving heavenly father, he cares for me, he knows what is best for me even if I do not. He sent his son to the earth to atone for the many mistakes I have made in my life and am sure to make in my life. And though it may be hard to believe at first, this truly is his church on the earth. Now it's my turn to try and help others see the love their Heavenly Father has for them.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving a mission in Taipei, Taiwan for the LDS church. I help others develop their own relationships with their heavenly father, and bring them closer to him. Back home before I came on my mission I was a ward missionary! Which is basically just like a helper to the missionaries that are serving in the area around where I live. I also taught a gospel principles class, which is all about the basics of our religion. Living my faith for me doesn't just stop when I leave the church building on Sundays, I try to always live my faith and stand up for what I believe outside of my church and home.
