Hi I'm Allie King

I grew up in Washington DC, I'm studying to be an OT at BYU, I'm serving in the California Bakersfield mission and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the DC suburbs in Maryland, next to the Appalachian Mountains. Consequently, I love hiking and being outside! I did cheer, marching band, choir and drama in High School and I just finished my first year at Brigham Young University studying Exercise Science. I will be serving in the California Bakersfield Mission starting in July, 2015! I love alternative, rock, and country music. I am the baby of the family with three older siblings and a beautiful niece and nephew. A beach or a lake is like a second home to me, one of my favorite things in this world is looking out on the water. You may find liking the brownie batter out of a bowl, lip syncing my heart out to the radio, or just reading quietly

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church because it is what makes me happy, it's as simple as that! When I live my faith, I follow the Lords commandments, I draw close to my Father in Heaven, I am an all around happier person. This gospel has brought clarity to my life, it helps me understand my purpose and it prevents me from ever feeling alone. I have support from other members and I have a relationship with God that is more precious to me than anything this world has to offer. Because of this gospel, I know that I am a child of God, a person with infinite worth and I have the choice to be whatever I want to be and to go wherever I want to go. I want to go where my Father is, I want to join Him again and gain eternal life through my Savior, who has suffered for any pain any of us have ever felt. I gain strength through them and that is what gets me through the days, and it changed my perspective from "getting through" days to living and enjoying them. This life is such a wonderful gift and I hope everyone can someday can find true joy form this gospel!

How I live my faith

When I was in High School, I served in a Stake Youth Committee where we planned activities for the youth of my stake. I also served in presidencies for different youth groups in my ward. When I got to college, I was a Family Home Evening Group Leader, which means I helped plan weekly activities for every Monday for a group of students from my ward. I also had the opportunity to be a visiting teacher for a few girls on my floor, meaning that I would visit with them, share a spiritual message and make sure that if they have any needs that they are taken care of.
