Hi I'm Sam Clyde

I am a student dentist. I recreate in disc golf and curling. I am great at being mediocre. I'm a Mormon

About Me

Throughout my life, I have found great strength in living a balanced life. This includes educational, spiritual, familial, intellectual, recreational, and creative pursuits. While studying to receive my degree in Biology, I never shied away from a good powder day of skiing or a chance to play Ultimate Frisbee with my teammates. Though perhaps the greatest source of focus was maintaining a regular relationship with God throughout my schooling. I am now in dental school and studies are more intense and demanding than ever. I love my trade and am proud to benefit my community as a health care professional. On top of school, I am working to pay the bills and afford a dating life by working as a nutritional/fitness coach. I find joy in working with others and building them up. We help change individuals core lifestyles which goes much deeper than the surface and the "six-pack" is just an added bonus of good overall health. I am a bit of a movie buff and love all things cinema including the production of short films for film competitions. Any remaining time I fill with board and card games with friends and family plus sleep, work, etc.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I like many others took the challenge to read the Book of Mormon and ask God through prayer, in the name of Jesus Christ if it was true. I received a divine response that was personal to me. God knows me and alerted me to the truthfulness of the church in a significant manner to me and will do so for all of his children. I know that as I live my life in accordance with God's will, I am happy and have many more opportunities to serve and help others. From a spiritual and intellectual level, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God's church again on the earth for the benefit of all people on the earth, cavities or not.

How I live my faith

Throughout my life, I have found that as I give time to God, He maximizes my capabilities and efficiency in all other aspects of my life. This time dedication is most apparent in my weekly church involvement. On top of three hours of regular church services, I attend one to two hours of classes offered by the LDS Institute of Religion studying in depth the scriptures and words of modern day prophets. My current calling or responsibility in my local congregation in organizing activities and service opportunities for young adults (another three to four hours each week.) Some ask me how I can afford to dedicate that amount of time to religion to which I always reply, "The times when I give less time to God, I find all other aspects in life become more difficult and time consuming, as I sacrifice time to the Lord, he helps me to accomplish every righteous task in a timely manner." I have experienced this time and time again. I strive to live the commandments of God. I am not perfect. However, as I repent and continue with faith in Jesus Christ, I find great strength and confidence in life. When we repent, the Lord is not concerned at all about our past, but rather, where we currently are and in what direction we are facing. Daily prayer and scripture study are a bit like flossing, the more regular you are, the healthier your life will be.
