Why I am a Mormon

There are many, many reasons why I'm a Mormon. Mostly because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints rocks! I was born and raised in the church and so I never really knew anything different. I've always believed it was true but I didn't always KNOW it. And hey, just in case you didn't know yet--I'm a human! So. I've made a lot of mistakes! But my mistakes have made me so much stronger. I went to all the church camps growing up and had a lot of very spiritual experiences. It wasn't until my dad passed away in 2013 that I could say that I KNEW for myself, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was true. My dad was the sweetest man in the whole world. So I was very confused as a 19 year old girl, why he was going to be taken away from me. I had been taught my whole life that families are forever. I came face to face with doubts that were telling me otherwise. That I could possibly never see my dad again. I had to decide if I really, truly believed what I had been taught all these years was true. Many, many spiritual experiences and blessings testified to me that it is in fact, so true. That I will see my dad again and it will be glorious! I'm a Mormon because I know its true. It just makes me happy! How happy I am to know that if I live righteously I will be able to be with my family forever and ever. I have felt true pain and sorrow in my short 21 years of living. And I've also felt true joy and happiness. And it's when I'm living the gospel and doing the things I should be doing. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, atoned for every single one of us. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have given me everything I have. Not everyone was as lucky as me to have been born in this church and to have such an awesome family. And that is why I'm going on a mission. So I can teach those amazing people in the Philippines about our incredible church. And how it has changed my life for the better and I know it will change theirs!

How I live my faith

I go to church and attend the temple regularly. I recently was involved in planning weekly activities for my ward and it was so fun! I try to find ways to serve and love those around me. I'm serving an 18 month mission in the Philippines so I live my faith every single day by being a disciple of Christ.
