Hi I'm Suzanne

I'm mommy to three. I love being with people. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I've always been a Mormon girl. I was raised in Utah county in a big, fun-loving family. As a teenager, I much preferred being with my family than spending time with friends. I always thought I'd raise my family in Utah too. I was wrong. I now live in the beautiful state of Virginia with my husband and three small children. Between changing diapers and feeding hungry mouths, I like to run, read, organize, do anything involving music and try new things. I find joy in creating small things: a loaf of bread, an item to decorate my home, a dress, a giggle out of a grumpy child, a smile from a baby. I have always been interested in people, who they are and how they feel. I studied Human Development in college and feel most fulfilled when I am interacting with people and developing relationships. I love to teach children in my home, in a preschool, in church; "children are an heritage of the Lord" (Psalms 127:3) and they are worth the investment. My experiences have confirmed to me that we are true children of a Supreme Being and He loves us eternally.

Why I am a Mormon

I began as a Mormon. I was blessed with a beautiful example of faith and conviction from my parents. I've always known my Heavenly Father is a real being and that He loves me. Through experiences and growth, my testimony and faith have become my own. My conversion to Jesus Christ and his church is ongoing. I have felt alone, dark and discouraged. I have tried various ways of alleviating those feelings. The only true and constant solution has been when I turn to our Savior, Jesus Christ. I cannot deny the hope and healing that I have received when I accept his Atonement. When I focus on my own strength or the opinions of others, I experience confusion and despair. When Jesus Christ is my focal point, I am blessed with clarity and peace. This pattern is real and consistent in my life. I have discovered true happiness through the plan that God has for His children. I testify that He is our loving Father in Heaven. He has not left us alone or without answers. I have found His plan for me through His Church. I love Him and I love my Savior.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith daily. My day is better and my thoughts more clear when I seek God in prayer every morning. I love being involved in my church. I have served as a teacher at various times to all ages, from toddlers to adults. I have used some of my abilities such as music and organization to serve and uplift people in my church and my community. I have been involved in food drives, gift giving and donations, community service, and administering to those who are sick or discouraged . To me, being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints means loving and serving the people around me because they are God's priceless children. Serving has made me a better and happier person. The blessings of living my faith are infinite and far outweigh any sacrifice of my time or resources.
