Hi I'm Christine

I grew up on Utah. I love traveling, and doing service. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a student studying at Brigham Young University. I'm taking a break from my studies for the next year and a half to serve the Lord on a full-time mission. I love to sing, and dance. I performed through choir and musical theater all through high school. I am planning on getting a double major in Family History and Computer Science. I have been called to the Korea Seoul South mission, and I cannot wait to get out and serve the people of Korea. I love them already! I have two sisters, a brother, and a brother-in-law, all older than I am. I once suffered from depression, but through the gospel I have been able to see the healing powers of following the commandments and the words of the prophets. I have learned for myself of the immensity of God's love for each of us, individually. Without that knowledge, I don't know where I would be today. I want others to be able to feel the comfort and happiness that the gospel can bring.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel brings peace and joy to my life. It helped me through the darkest times of my life, and I don't know what I would do without it. I am a Mormon because I know that the teachings scriptures like the Book of Mormon and revelation from modern day prophets are real and straight from our Lord and Savior. Sometimes life gets really hard, and we suffer from trials and afflictions. These are placed in our lives because we have sinned, or because the Lord knows that it will help us grow. The Lord will never put us through a trial that we cannot come out of victorious. The gospel provides me with an assurance that I will be able to be with my family for time and all eternity. It saddens me to see people so distraught over death, because they don't know that we can all be together someday. I am a Mormon because I want my children to be able to experience the joy and happiness that it brings, and because I want to be with my future husband and children forever.

How I live my faith

I was born into a family of the LDS faith. I was so fortunate to have parents that wanted me to know about the gospel and all of its teachings. I have served in many different callings throughout my life, including being a part of the presidencies of the Young Women program. I was called to be the pianist for the women of the ward. I am currently serving as a 'mom' of a family home evening group in a young single adult ward at BYU. I will soon be called as a full time missionary to serve in Korea. Living the LDS faith isn't something that can be done once or twice a year, or just on Sundays. It is a full-time religion. I try to keep an attitude of prayer at all times. I read my scriptures every day, and pray to Heavenly Father multiple times a day. "Prayer is how we speak to God, and the scriptures are how He talks to us." When I remember this, it makes me eager to read my scriptures and to know what the Lord has to say to me.
