Hi I'm Rebeka

I was baptised into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints the age of 15, which has been a great blessing in my life.

About Me

I am 25 years old. I love drawing, singing, socialising, spending time with my sisters and family, and doing outdoors activities. I also enjoy doing crafts like sewing and creating things by using my hands. I put my family and faith first in my life. I want continue my studies to become a successful business manager.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings joy, peace and love into my life. I felt that becoming a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was the right thing to do. Being a member gives me confidence in my faith, helps to to gain a deeper relationship with God, my Heavenly Father, through a correct understanding of His true character. I am also a member because it helps me understand the world around me, why I am here, who I am, and where I go after this life. The Church has helped me to understand why God allows bad things to happen. Before I was a member, I felt there was a whole in my life. I felt there was something or some person missing from my life, and God to me felt so far away that I could not reach Him. I prayed without understand the purpose of it. The church has shown me the right way to pray. This has made my prayers more meaningful, allowing me to understand what God wants for me. The Church has helped me to live on a higher spiritual level, giving me greater spiritual control over my life. I recognise that if I follow God's wisdom, I receive more blessings that if I follow my own imperfect wisdom. My experience has shown me that I can trust in God with my whole heart and mind which gives me the safety I need in this often confusing world.

How I live my faith

I pray every morning and every evening. I love reading the scriptures ( Bible, The Book of Mormon) daily. On every Sunday I go to church meetings where I can meet other people who share the same belief as me. Every time I go to church it feels like home and family for me. I try my best to live my faith by trying to focus on the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Rebeka
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is about us. We are humans with weaknesses. Sometimes we make mistakes and sin. It is alright, because we are here on Earth to learn and experience things, and we have our agency (the ability to choose) from Heavenly Father. This means we are able to choose between right and wrong. Jesus Christ was without sin, perfect. He is the Son of God who wants to help us progress in The Plan of Salvation. He gave His life for us that we may be perfected in Him and become clean and pure again through repentance and His Atonement. Jesus suffered the consequence of all sin for all of us. For me it is the greatest gift I have ever received in my life. No matter what I have done, what mistakes and sins I have committed, I can be forgiven through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I love my Savior Jesus Christ. I know He lives Show more Show less
