Hi I'm Dennis Ray

I have travelled through the Panama Canal. Love fun activities, once enjoyed a parachute jump, I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a farmer, a former Board of local Irrigation District member after serving 26 years. In the past I have had the opportunity of serving on a number of different boards, and organizations. As a youth I loved to ride my horse, motor bike and do other fun activities with friends. Life on the farm where I was raised, was full of adventures. Pinto, my favourite horse was a part of those adventures. I enjoyed working along side of my father who taught me so much. I am a father, married in August 1970, We have 6 children, 5 now living. Four of our children are married and we now have 13 grandchildren whom we love. Highlights are getting together as a family and going to Fairmont Hot Springs, going skiing, swimming, and just enjoying one another.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is true, that Gospel has been restored once more. I know that our Father in Heaven is aware of each of us and loves us beyond anything we can possibly imagine. I know that as we strive to do our best our Father in Heaven will bless us. I love the Temple and the fact that we can be sealed to our loved ones forever.

How I live my faith

I had the opportunity of serving a mission when I was younger to Kentucky & Tennessee. At the time it was known as the East Central States Mission. The last 6 months of my mission I worked in the office as the Mission Recorder, and at that time we had no organized Wards, or States within our Mission. Over the years I have developed a great love of serving others. I have been involved as secretary for the local UGG Grain growers in Town. besides being on the Barnwell Council, Barnwell Grazing Association, served as well on the Alberta Soft Wheat Growers. Finally, I served on the local Irrigation District for 26 years, as a Board Member. My father's advise was that we have a responsibility to do our share to make things better for others. My greatest satisfaction was being able to serve in various callings in the Church: as a home teacher, scoutmaster, then working together with my wife team teaching in the Primary. Later on we were called to serve as Service Missionaries to a small Ward for 3 years. While there I developed a greater love of the Gospel as I taught the Gospel Doctrine Class. After that we were called to work in the Temple which was one of the choicest blessings we have had. At the same time we served in the Addiction Recovery Program where we devoped a greater appreciation for the Atonement.
