Hi I'm Shelby

I'm an older sister. An actress. A student. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to act, sing, and dance. Writing and reading are two things that I cannot live without, and I love to draw and do other artistic/creative type things. I love listening to all kinds of music, from Classic Rock to Broadway show-tunes, I love it all! I am a student at Brigham Young University (BYU) studying Theatre Arts Education. I'm the oldest of 4 children, and I have over 20 cousins on either side of my family (I love big families!).

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the message of love, forgiveness, family, and happiness that is taught. This whole gospel is about living with your family for eternity and returning to live with a Heavenly Father who loves us. We know that we aren't perfect, and this religion doesn't ask us to be. It merely is asking us to try our hardest to be the best that we can be. And when I mess up, the repentance and forgiveness doesn't come from anywhere else but the Lord. My relationship with the Lord is something that I have found through the LDS church. Everyone is encouraged to ask questions and to know of themselves that this religion is God's restored gospel on the Earth today. And through these acts of questioning and finding answers for myself, I have come to know God on a personal level and to feel of his love. So that is why I am a Mormon, because of the love and happiness that I have found and felt through the teachings and practices of this religion.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by participating as much as I can wherever I can. Right now I have a calling in my church to help teach the little children, ages 5 and 6. They are the sweetest spirits and I love being able to tell them about their Heavenly Father and how much he loves them. I'm also preparing to go on a mission for the church. I was just called to the beautiful country of Chile, the same country that my Dad served in over 25 years ago! And I cannot wait to go and tell people about the gospel and help them to come to know the love and happiness that can be in their lives!
