Hi I'm Kirstie

I was born in Ethiopia, I was adopted and grew up in Utah, I'm now a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to learn. I always love to read new books and old favorite ones. I love watching movies and TV shows that I can learn something from like the Discovery, History, and Travel Channel. I go to Brigham Young University and I'm currently studying Sociology and International Development. I love to learn about people, cultures, and how we can all make a difference in the world to help others. Family is the most important thing in my life. I was adopted at age 3 with my twin brother from a very poor country and have been privileged to live in the United States since.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know my purpose in this life. I know I was meant to come to America and to have a new family and be sealed to them forever. Even though I've been going to church and have known about the gospel my entire life, I've had to gain my own testimony, whether the gospel is true or now. I have prayed many times, felt the spirit in church, and have read the Book of Mormon and the Holy Bible many times and I know it's true. If we ask with real intent, really wanting to know, the Holy Ghost will tell us in our minds and in our hearts whether the gospel or the Book of Mormon is true. I know it's true and I'm serving a mission and learning Spanish so that other people can know of the joy that I've felt in my life because I know God's plan for me and I know what Jesus Christ has done for me and for the rest of the world.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission in Panama City, Panama and my twin brother is serving a mission in Bahia Blanca, Argentina. We are both serving missions because we are grateful for the new lives our Heavenly Father has given us and the many blessings that followed. The gospel has made my family closer together and I've gained a testimony from attending church every Sunday, reading my scriptures everyday, attending Seminary in High School, and attending Institute and Religion classes in college. Heavenly Father has a plan for me and I'm grateful for the guidance of the Gospel in my life.
