Hi I'm Al

I'm a mormon and grateful for being so. My life has been enriched by the teachings of the true, restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

About Me

I am a dad, sealed for eternity with my family. Before being baptized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints, I acquainted myself with other faiths but did not join. I felt a strong connection when I listened to the mormon missionaries. I have always felt the need to be near God and I feel that I could not find a better place to do that. I feel the need to say that whoever is looking for the full light of the Jesus's teachings, those who are looking to be more than good, will be guided to this church. I enjoy sharing my beliefs with others and enjoy reading and meditating about gospel topics.

Why I am a Mormon

I enjoy the gospel's way of living and love the knowledge that family relationships can be sealed forever and not just end with our last breath on this earth. It makes a lot of sense to me, since we, the human race, are eternal and are descendants of a heavenly father who also has a family, of which we are part of and how is eternal too. I enjoy the challenge to become better. I believe that the spiritual side is very difficult to tame but it is so rewarding when we accomplish a new strength or understanding of that realm. I understand that our society presents a big challenge to truly be near God, but at the same time understand that it has been always the case during this earth's existence. I would not change for anything the chance I have to be guided everyday by the teachings of a true prophet and apostles of our Heavenly Father and the revelation that comes by following God's commandments. I am thrilled to belong to an organization that is directed by our creator through a prophet and apostoles. God stated through the prophet Amos (Amos 3:7) "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." We certainly are in an era where the direct guide of God, via a phophet, is needed more than ever. So, why would he leave his beloved children in darkness, trying to figure out what he said hundreds of years ago, by themselves? Not so. He has reestablished that line of communication through a divine called prophet and apostles just like when Jesus Christ was on earth.

How I live my faith

I have a calling in my church that allows me to visit others and to help them with their genealogy. I try to do everything that meets the gospel standards. That, has brought me great peace and blessings during my life. I have learned, little by little, to trust the Lord in everything I do.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

To make the atonement Jesus Christ valid on us we need to do more than to say we accept it or verbally praise the Lord or carry a cross hanging from our neck. It requires a deep, spiritual involvement, it requires a change in our thoughts, intentions and the true desire to be like God. Jesus Christ taught in Matthew 5:48 that to be considered a true christian one has to be involved entirely. Such is the invitation to be perfect like our Father in heaven is perfect. Investing ourselves fully will make us understand the importance of the the atonement. We are not expected to be perfect on this earth but we must strive to be better everyday and by and by we will achieve spiritual heights we never thought possible. The atonement of Jesus Christ is purifying if we are looking to change all the the wrong actions and feelings we carry with us and not just a certain part of ourselves. The true intention of it can be felt if we are really sincere about a deep change. The love of the Lord is manifested in every particle of the plan of salvation and especially in the atonement.
