Hi I'm Romanov

I do not live in Utah, but I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a missionary in Ukraine Lviv Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

From birth, I knew that God and Jesus Christ existed. My parents were actively involved in religion. My father was one of the officials in the Orthodox Church. Later, we were baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of LDS. My older sister was baptized first. My mother accepted the gospel along with the Book of Mormon, but at the time, I did not clearly understand the seriousness of the message. I went to church, to better understand the doctrine. I have never had doubt the existence of Deity. The gospel and the Savior have always been present in my life. Eventually, I came to realize that I needed to understand the importance of it all. From the many I have heard that religion is a business invented by the Jews or that the Church of Jesus Christ is not true. But, in my heart I remained confident that the Father loves me, and I can come to an understanding through prayer and study of His word. I studied the Book of Mormon, attending courses at the Institute of Religion and seminaries. I perfectly understood the principles of the gospel, but I wanted to enlist the support of the Holy Spirit. Once I read 3 Nephi 11: 3-7 and I pondered the fact that people have heard the voice of a few times, but I did not understand. The words "open their ears to hear it; and their eyes were fixed" especially touched me. I realized that my spiritual eyes and ears were closed. I prayed about it. I wanted to receve an answer about the truthfulness of the Church through the Holy Spirit. The answer came slowly and gradually. It was like the morning dawn. I think that God has seen my willingness to return Him and tochange my life to be in accordance with His will. Now I have a testimony that Jesus came to earth to die for us. I know He atoned for our sins and was resurrected on the third day. He fulfilled the plan of happiness and gave the opportunity to obtain eternal life with God and uor families. I treasure this spiritual knowledge. My testimony - that's all I have.

How I live my faith

For me, the greatest example is Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father gave us this example through his great love for his children. Through Christ I have the freedom of choice that allows me to focus on the right. By Studying the scriptures, realized that they are evidence of our Elder Brother, His teachings and His ministry. Realizing that Jesus is my Redeemer, I generously used the gift of repentance. It's time to improve, to gain experience and to gain wisdom. The Lord wants us to be perfect even as He and Heavenly Father are perfect! I need to change much in this essence, so I can think, feel and act like truly converted disciples of Jesus Christ do. I am striving for a strong change of heart. The Lord taught that if we are truly converted to His gospel, our hearts turn away from selfish interests. I pray and, try to act in faith, and I believe that this will help me to become a new person, through of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
