Hi I'm Amelia

I grew up in Utah. I want to make a difference in the world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love reading and writing. I'd love to write my own book someday. I love being outside and enjoying the beauty of nature and God's creation. I play the flute, the piano, and I love to sing. I love watching movies with my friends and spending time with my family. I'm going to college right now, and I'm still a little unsure of what I want to major in. I'm thinking about majoring in Communication Disorders and becoming a speech pathologist, but I'm not positive yet. I am also serving a full-time mission in the Baton Rouge Louisiana Mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family, but I choose to be a Mormon because of the joy and light the gospel brings to my life. Without it, I would not be the same person that I am today. I wouldn't be as happy, nor would I be in such a good place in my life. I have been so blessed because of my knowledge of the gospel. I know that I have a Savior who suffered and died to atone for the sins of the world, which includes my own. He loves me and wants me to be happy. I know that through His Atonement I can repent and become clean. I can one day live again with my Heavenly Father who loves me beyond comprehension. I know I am a literal daughter of God, and I know He knows who I am on a personal level. I know the Book of Mormon is true because I have read it and felt it change my life and my heart for the better. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet on the earth today who receives direct instruction from God. I am so grateful for the knowledge I have of the gospel because it gives me hope and light when the darkness of the world threatens to overwhelm me. I can always find joy in the truth and light I know. I choose to be a Mormon because I know that the joy, beauty, and light it brings can be attained no other way.

How I live my faith

I like to index genealogy records on the family history site. I also play the piano in my church meetings. I try to choose songs that create a welcoming, spiritual atmosphere and my goal is to help the people in those meetings feel peace and ready to learn about the gospel.
