Hi I'm Shaylee

I am a University student studying Fine Arts. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Freshman in college and am currently putting that on hold to serve a full time mission. I love to create specifically I love to draw. I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the savior. I am a Mormon because of my testimony of Jesus Christ and my faith that through him and this gospel families can be together forever. I love my family and know that through this gospel I can always be with my family. I am a Mormon because I believe in Christ's atonement and know that through him and his saving grace I can make it home to my Heavenly Father. I believe that God loves all his children and that he has provided us with a prophet in this latter day in order to guide us through the troubles of life. I believe in Joseph Smith just like any other prophet called by God. I believe that God knows me and has a plan for me, because he is my father and I am a child of God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending a religion class. This semester I am taking Jesus Christ and the Everlasting Gospel for my religion and it has been fantastic. We are learning about the first book of Moses in the Pearl of Great Price and the part of the lesson that I felt was very insightful is found in Moses 1: 16-22 when Moses says “I will not cease to call upon God, I have other things to inquire of him: for his glory has been upon me, wherefore I can judge between him and thee. Depart hence, Satan” (VS 18), because of how bold he was with the devil. I often times feel a little confused or overwhelmed thinking that the devil is trying to tempt me but Moses’ answer gave me a lot of faith. Although Satan didn’t give up and go away at first Moses didn’t give up ether and ultimately with the help of the Savior, Jesus Christ, the devil was forced to leave. My hope that I gained for this is that I can maybe one day, in a moment of weakness, have the strength to remember that with the Savior the devil can’t win. I know I can always pray and ask the Lord for help and I am grateful for that.
