Hi I'm Paige

I’m a college student. I love to sing. I’m an avid Jane Austin fan. I’m a Mormon.

About Me

I have been in choir since the fourth grade and somewhere between all the voice lessons and the choir rehearsals, I have developed a great love for music. My mom also started me up in piano lessons in the first grade and somehow due to a combination of her immense willpower and my father’s authoritative hand I stayed in piano lessons until my graduation. While I admit freely that I am despite my parents valiant efforts, a rather mediocre pianist, I am grateful to them and have grown to love the instrument, despite my poor skill. I was raised by an attorney, which meant that there were many a training session around the dinner table in the art of argument. I was taught to be very precise with my words and to examine them carefully to ensure they were accurately portraying my meaning. I was also taught the value of being elusive in my language to brush over the more unpleasant issues. More than anything, I was taught how to be kind, how to be service minded and how to be a strength to the people surrounding me.

Why I am a Mormon

I belong to this church because I believe it to be the true church of God led by his prophet. There is great power and strength in that knowledge. It gives me purpose and belonging and it brings me closer to Christ. That is the true purpose of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints: to bring people closer to Christ. I cannot imagine my life without the church. It is central to everything I do, and I am grateful for the careful guidance and comfort it has given me over the years.

How I live my faith

The summer after my senior year of high school, I did the hardest thing I have ever done. I stayed home and went to community college. This is probably nothing to most people, but for me, waving goodbye as all my friends went off to college was heartbreaking. The reason I stayed home was to prepare to serve a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I did not have many friends that semester and my Friday night were generally depressingly bare, but I drew closer to God in those few months than I have ever been. I studied the scriptures daily and prayed more often with more sincerity than ever before. I now feel ready to go forward and serve the Lord as a full time missionary.
