Hi I'm Shelley Willden

I was born and raised in the great state of Texas. I'm serving a mission in the only state bigger--Alaska '16-'18. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love singing, dancing, watching movies, and hanging out with my friends. I like to take enjoyment in the little things of life. Throughout my schooling I participated in a lot of groups and activities. I recently graduated from Brigham Young University in Idaho with a music degree. By far these last four years have helped to shape my character and bring me closer to my Savior. My choice to serve a full-time mission came over time as I have increased my understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am currently serving in the Alaska Anchorage Mission to share with people the happiness the gospel can bring.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon by birth but a disciple of Jesus Christ by choice. Growing up a member may seem easy because I have lived the gospel my whole life but it's not easy being a Mormon. I have challenges like everyone else that shape me into the person the Lord sees me becoming. It is my choice now to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As I become more knowledgeable about the church and it's teaching I find more reasons why this is the Lord's true church.

How I live my faith

I find that going to church on a regular basis is how we unite in our faith with others who share our same beliefs. I serve my ward by magnifying my calling. During my time in college, along with being a camp counselor for a church organized summer program for youth, I was really converted to the gospel. Daily prayer and scripture study helps me to stay close to my Heavenly Father. Being on a mission now increases my devotion of Christ and knowledge of the gospel I believe.
