Hi I'm Tim Pradzinski

I live in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada. My wife and I joined the Mormon Church in May 1996. We have 3 wonderful children.

About Me

I am a Business Systems Specialist who works for the City of Grande Prairie. I enjoy playing chess, reading books, being physically active and serving in my Ward. My wife and I love to travel. Together we have travelled to Poland, England, and France with our kids in the summer of 2011. I am a Canadian Citizen and a US Citizen but I identify more as a Canadian than I do as an American but I still love America. I went to the University of Illinois back in the early 1980's to study Computer Science. I have always loved computers and it definitely is my passion. I love movies and I am a huge Science Fiction fan. I love all the Harry Potter books and have seen the movies at least a couple of times already. I am also a big Philip K. Dick fan. I have always loved Science Fiction as I consider myself a Futurist. One of my other passions is genealogy. My wife and I have travelled to Salt Lake City many times to take genealogy vacations. You would think spending 10 hours a day in the library looking for my ancestors on vacation would be tiring. But, it isn't. It is such a wonderful feeling to connect with the past. To know where you came from and to know the struggles of your ancestors helps me in my life. Between my wife and I, she is the better (and more dedicated) genealogy expert. I don't know where I would be without her. She is my rock. Together, we are doing our best to be good examples of Jesus Christ in action and deeds.

Why I am a Mormon

Before I was introduced to the Mormon Church, I didn't believe in God. I wasn't an Atheist or anything. It was simply that God was not on my radar. I always tried to be a good person. I wasn't perfect and I made many mistakes along the way. What really attracted me to the Mormon Church was their focus on families. When my wife and I moved to Canada and started having children, I decided that I wanted to be a "good" father. I started wondering if a belief in God could help me become this "good" father. It was at this time that my wife and I were introduced to the Mormon missionaries through parents of our daughter's friend. They invited us to attend a Valentines Day dance at Church and we were happy to go. We had not been invited to too many things since moving to Canada. It was a wonderful experience. The people there were happy and they had a great time and they didn't need alcohol to accomplish this. I was intrigued as to why these people were so happy. I wanted to know more. So, my wife and I decided to take a journey of discovery to learn more about the Gospel and especially about the Mormons. At first, I acted non-committal as I wanted to play it cool. But after time, I started to like what I heard. I found out that I could have a personal relationship with God. That I could pray to him and that he would listen and converse with me through prayer. I never prayed before in my life. The first time I went on my knees and asked God if this Church that I was studying was True. My whole body felt like it was on fire. I never felt anything like it. I prayed to know if Joseph Smith was a prophet. After praying for this answer, I knew it was true. I could not deny it. Shortly after that, I asked if we could be baptized. It was the best decision of my life. My life has been truly blessed since joining the Mormon Church. I have made some of the best friends and I have served many people and I have had people serve me. I truly love Jesus!

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving in my Ward at Church. If I am asked to serve, I do so with a willing heart. I do my best and I strive to find joy in helping others. I have served in the Church as a Financial Clerk, Ward Mission Leader (working with our missionaries), a leader of the men's group, an assistant Cub Scouts leader and many, many more callings. I have truly enjoyed every different position I have served in. I have felt that hand of the Lord in these jobs as I have been blessed to help people come closer to Jesus Christ. Currently, I am currently serving as High Priests Group Leader. It is a very humbling feeling to know that the Lord trusts you enough to serve in a position of leadership. We have a wonderful and very spiritual group of High Priests in the Wapiti Ward in Grande Prairie. I look forward to working with this group and to help plan activities that will help us all come closer to each other and closer to Jesus Christ.
