Hi I'm Katie

I grew up in upstate New York. I love pizza, snow, and Bob Dylan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing sports, but soccer is my ultimate favorite. Music is also a huge part of my life. I love singing old folk songs, playing piano, and started teaching myself guitar a couple years ago. I attended Brigham Young University my freshman year, and am currently taking time off to serve my mission in Sacramento California. After I return I want to study naturopathic science and pursue my music. I also love reading and watching movies. I have a deep desire to travel the world, learn as many languages as I can, and make friends everywhere I go. I grew up in upstate New York and I have an appreciation for old houses, dewy grass, dirt roads, and starry skies. My family moved to Las Vegas after I graduated high school, and I still miss the green-ness of the East Coast. I like the desert and the mountains in the West, but I am too in love with the Atlantic Ocean to stay out there forever.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the witness I have received from the Holy Spirit, of the truthfulness of this restored Gospel, is undeniable. I have a testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith, and that he translated the Book of Mormon through the power of revelation given to him from God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by never being ashamed of being a Mormon. When I was baptized at the age of 8 I invited a few friends from school who were not members, and they've never forgotten. It still got brought up at the lunch table in high school years after. Right now I have accepted my call to serve a mission in California, speaking spanish. So for 18 months I will be meeting people and helping them come to find their own testimony that they do have a purpose in this life and are children of our Heavenly Parents.
