Hi I'm Nathan Crockett

I grew up in Tacoma, Washington. I will serve a mission in Scottsdale, Arizona in less than two months. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Nathan. I lived in Washington State all my life and I love it here. Rain is not nearly as bad as the rumors say and I love all the green that we have. I've played the guitar for the last 10 years and sing along to a lot of popular country songs. My favorite thing to do outside is go snowboarding with friends or family. I am currently enrolled at BYU-Idaho with a major in Math-Education. I have worked at Lowes Home Improvement Store for the last year and a half delivering appliances and working the cash register. Over the next two years, from 2015-2017, I will serve a Spanish speaking mission in Arizona.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon. I chose to be Mormon because I know this is the true church. I grew up as a member of the church but did not truly gain my testimony until after I graduated High School. Testimony might be a foreign word to some people but to most Latter Day Saints, that is a powerful word. It means that with every fiber of my being I have knowledge given to me by God. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in true. God talks with a prophet today to lead and guide His Church. I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God, that a man/woman may get closer to him by reading and abiding by its precepts. Jesus Christ is the Savior and redeemer of the world. We have a purpose of being, I know where we were before this life, and where we are going after this life. How? I have come to this knowledge by reading the scriptures, pondering the contents there in, and then conversing with the Lord to obtain answers. When you do these things I promise you(testify) that the truth will be manifested to you by the power of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I have been a teacher in the Young Single Adult branch of my stake. I taught the basic doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have helped with service projects, as a young man and an adult, such as cleaning church buildings, rebuilding public community parks, and yard work for the elderly or disabled. I have chosen to serve a mission for the church and put aside all things that are current in my life; such as my work, any potential for marriage, school, family, and friends. All to answer the Lord's call in a mission. While serving a mission I will... "Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and endure to the end." as the missionary purpose states, in this service we serve our fellow man in whatever the circumstances may require, we teach the gospel of Jesus Christ, perform community services including helping to prepare activities such as marathons, serve in callings in the field, and help people see the hope that this life offers us through the gospel of Jesus Christ meaning Faith, Repentance, Baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.
