Hi I'm Maxwell

I was born in California and raised in Utah. I'm an athlete, a twin, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I lived in California till I was eleven, then moved to Utah with my mom and three older brothers. Growing up a skateboarder, it was really difficult adjusting from sunny California weather to the winters of Utah. My teenage years were a tough time for me, but getting through them helped me to find out who I was and what I really believe.

Why I am a Mormon

I guess you can say I was born a Mormon, because I've been going to church ever since I was little. It took me a while to understand, but I now know for myself that this gospel is true. Reading The Book of Mormon was a catalyst in my conversion. The feeling I got when I read the first book of Nephi, was like nothing I've ever experienced in my life. During my teenage years I had a difficult time trying to figure out who I was. I suffered from severe anxiety and depression, and looked outside of my church and family to find relief from these feelings. It wasn't until I was in the depths of sorrow and despair that I decided to pick up a Book of Mormon and read it. To think that I had learned about the teachings in The Book of Mormon for most of my life but hadn't decided to read it until then seems crazy now, but it was true. In my moment of despair, reading the first book of Nephi brought comfort to my soul like nothing else ever had. As I continued to read I felt God's love for me, and I knew His spirit was testifying to me that what I was reading was true. I have since read The Book of Mormon multiple times and continue to read it today. I now know for myself, that the teachings in The Book of Mormon will bring us closer to Jesus Christ and help us in partaking in His atonement.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. As a Mormon, I have a lot of opportunities to serve in my community. From participating in large service projects to visiting other church members in their homes, serving others brings me happiness. Right now I am currently serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Sweden Stockholm Mission. This gospel brings me so much joy and I am so thankful for the opportunity I have to share it with others.
