Hi I'm Ben

I grew up in Texas. I love playing sports and was active in my high school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing any sports. I have specifically been playing tennis, basketball, and soccer. I love working with my hands and doing hands on activities. I also love to be around people and learn about others and their beliefs and doings. I have been attending Utah State University, but am now serving a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

As I grew up I always went to church and did the things I was supposed to, but I didn't have the right mindset until I was able to think for myself. I could tell that all the things I was doing was important to my parents and the other people at church, but I didn't know for myself. One day I decided to ask Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon was true, and thus what I was doing was right. I waited many days and asked many days in prayer. Finally my answer came in the feeling of the Holy Ghost. It was a burning within me that I can't deny. I knew that I needed to keep doing right, but I didn't yet understand what joy it would bring. As I've become older I've only become more happy and felt the Holy Ghost more. I have seen how I feel when I stop living the teachings of Christ and when I do and I know I am much happier when I obey Christ's teachings. Being a Mormon isn't about being restricted, but becoming. It has helped me become joyful and recognize what true joy is in my life.

How I live my faith

Previously I was an Activities Committee Chairman, and what this entailed was planning and carrying out different events to be put on for our local congregation. One of these was a Christmas party and talent show. Now I am serving a 2 year mission for the LDS church and have the opportunity to invite people to come unto Christ.
