Hi I'm Megan

I grew up in Providence, Utah. I am the oldest of 7 siblings. I love being around people and involved in all I can. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being involved in whatever I can. I participated in theater all through my high school experience and was a student body officer on the Executive Council my senior year. I loved so much performing and getting to know those in Drama with me. Being a student body officer was such a blessing and helped me to grow so much learning to be a leader and example. I love singing, dancing, writing, pottery and smiling. Summer is my favorite season, yellow is my favorite color. I tend to want to doing things that are out of the ordinary and make sure the things I am doing are the things that I love. I am the oldest of 7 siblings and have loved being a part of a big family. I love talking and getting to know new people. I've always had a strong desire to have good friends and the friends I have made have been such a blessing in my life. Currently I am preparing to serve a full time in the Philippines Quezon City Mission. I report Feb 4th! The gospel has been such a rock in my life and has helped me to become the person I am and to get me to where I want to be in life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I constantly want to strive to be a better version of myself. The gospel provides guidelines and direction to becoming the better people we want to be. It gives us do's and dont's, and encourages us to become like our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is the focus of the Mormon religion. While reading it we find out ways to become closer to our Father in Heaven and we feel the Spirit of our Father in Heaven testify the truth of its words. I know the Book of Mormon is true, and by reading it we can know that we are loved by our Heavenly Father. We can come to have a relationship with God through prayer and reading the Book of Mormon. Prayer is the only communication we have with God, we are his children and he wants to hear from us daily and always. As we have faith that God will answer our prayers, he will. He knows us better than we know ourselves, and wants the best for us. We have agency in our lives, and the ability to choose our own path because He loves us, and is always waiting for us to ask him for help. I have grown up being a Mormon my whole life, and I have continued to be a member because I have not ever felt it was the wrong decision. I have never had times in my life I couldn't get through because I knew I had God on my side. I knew that if I lived my life right that I would not fail. God is patient with us, he lets us learn what we need to by going down the path we ourselves think is right, but he is always there waiting when we want to come back. I have felt the spirit testify to me of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith. I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet, I know he saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and that he translated the Book of Mormon so that we could have it to read in our day today. I know Christ lives and that He performed the Atonement because he loves us. We could not make it through this life without the peace that comes from living the gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to do what our Heavenly Father would want me to do. I actively attend my Young Single Adult Ward and have a calling as the Ward Chorister. I know that Heavenly Father would want me in my meetings every Sunday and reaching out to others. I feel strongly that people in our lives are the best way we can live the gospel. Being kind to others, learning from them, teaching them; people are our biggest assets in life and those we associate with affect our own lives so much. I live my faith by being an example. People are watching us every day whether we know it or not. Christ lived his life by his actions but also by example, I know that striving to live our lives following Christ's footsteps is what Heavenly Father wants us to do.
