Hi I'm Taryn

I'm from small town Bryce Canyon, Utah. I am currently serving in the Montana Billings Mission from Dec. 2014-2016. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I've been a member of the church all my life. I love all kinds of sports. I love to hunt and fish and just be in the outdoors. I really enjoy making friends and talking with everyone! I graduated high school in 2014 and after my mission I plan on going to school at Dixie State University.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the influence and power of the Atonement in my life. This act, the Atonement, has led me to feel and know of the love our Savior has for each and every one of us. As I've used what Christ has given me, I have felt the influence of the Holy Ghost in my life. I can't deny the power of the Holy Ghost. I know that the only possible way I have been constantly taught by the Holy Ghost, is through that Priesthood Authority that God gives to men on this earth. That is the only way I have made it to where I am today. I know when I was baptized, I was clean and worthy to receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands. I know I can't feel the Holy Ghost in my life, unless I repent and change, and allow the Spirit to be able to come back into my life. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I use to take my faith for granted. Now, as I've exercised my faith and lived the gospel, I know it's importance and why we all need it. I understand how lucky I was to be raised in a good family going to church. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and every day I strive to do, and be, better. I know that life gets tough, but knowing my Savior is there to help lift the burdens we all have helps me through it. I try my best to be an example to others by simply being nice and giving service. To me, there's no greater way to teach someone than by simple acts of service!

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Taryn
We increase our faith by nourishing it. I look at it like this: I love being in the outdoors! I love hunting. I love fishing. I love hiking. I didn't just grow a love of it all by thinking about these things and never doing them. I first had a desire. I acted on that desire and I tried hunting, fishing and hiking. After trying it out, it began to be enjoyable to me. I was able to see the fruits that they all bore. It wasn't the animals that were the fruits, but the spiritual experiences I had while I was out doing these things. I learned to love this earth and the beauty of the creation. I learned to love the animals and how important a life is. I never would have had any of those experiences without exercising my faith. This all may sound interesting, but we can't live without having faith. I have faith in Jesus Christ and in His Gospel. By living it, and putting it to the test, I've seen so many blessings and miracles. Show more Show less
