Hi I'm Joe Server

I grew up in Glendale, CA. I worked for IBM in Los Angeles and Salt Lake City for 33 years prior to retiring. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have enjoyed and participated in most sports. Golf is the sport I can participate in currently. My wife and I have 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Our family is our main focus. I am working on our family history and genealogy. It is interesting as both my parents were born in Spain. I enjoy indexing which is a way of digitizing historical information e.g. census records, birth, marriage etc. so it can be made available to anyone in the world through a computer.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized at age 29. I investigated the church for a while. Through studying the Book of Mormon , the Bible, and other words of prophets of old, I felt a confirmation of the truthfulness of this gospel. When I prayed as directed in Moroni 10:3-5 I was touched by the Spirit and felt a peace I had never felt before. I always believed in God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, but I believed they are separate beings but one in thought and purpose. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints embodies the organization, the revelation to a prophet, Apostles, another testament of Jesus Christ in the Book of Mormon, and temples as taught by the Savior. His Atoning sacrifice for mankind and the fall of Adam allows us to be resurrected as He was. After a period of Apostasy, the gospel was restored through a latter day prophet, Joseph Smith. This gospel restores covenants with God and the Savior which were lost over time. These covenants are strengthening and inspire us to keep the Lord's commandments. These covenants are renewed each Sunday through partaking of the Sacrament. This Church teaches correct principles as taught by Jesus Christ. I find peace, solace, compassion and inspiration through this gospel. God does answer prayers and each of us can find out for ourselves the truthfulness of this gospel and church.

How I live my faith

I teach a Sunday School class for 16-18 year old young men and women. They are bright and strong in their testimonies of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We all learn about service to our fellowman where ever possible. My wife and I will be serving an 18 month mission for the church in a foreign country. The scriptures speak about the gospel being spread around the world and we want to participate. The Savior was no respecter of persons. He showed compassion and love to all mankind.
