Hi I'm Rebecca

I love to garden and hike beautiful Pine Valley Mountain in Southern Utah and take pictures of wild flowers. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a retired school teacher. I have 9 grown children, 26 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. I love to read stories to my grandchildren. I love to garden year round. Luckily, I have a small green house to help me through the cold months. I love to walk and hike the mountains in my area with my grandchildren. We try to identify the birds and wild flowers we see. I have a very blessed life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints! It helps me in every aspect of my life. Membership gives me a community of people with the same values that I have. When I was a young mother raising my kids, the church provided classes and supervised activities for children and teenagers lead by adults I trusted to teach my kids. When challenges come, I gain comfort knowing my Heavenly Father loves me and if I put my faith in Him and do all that I can, all will be well no matter what happens. I know that we can be a family forever if we live the teachings of the gospel. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ as taught by the LDS Church makes me happy!

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many ways. It permeates everything I do. I attend my meetings every week. Those three hours are the highlight of my week. I hear up lifting talks and lessons and sing beautiful hymns that set the tone for my week. Sometimes I even get to teach a lesson! I get to study a gospel topic and share my testimony of why it's important with all those in attendance. I visit my assigned ladies every month or more often if needed and help them in any way I can. Bring hot soup to each family I visit each month I welcome my visiting teachers into my home every month knowing that if I need help they will be there for me. I am a Cub Scout den leader and enjoy helping the boys earn their advancements.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

To increase my faith in Jesus Christ I choose to believe. It is a choice I make every day. I believe faith is a gift from heaven that comes when we seek it and hold on to it. I keep the commandments. I nourish my faith like I would a seed that I want to grow. I read my scriptures. I only listen to uplifting music, only watch uplifting movies, etc. I serve others when I have a chance. I know that my faith, through the grace of Jesus Christ will allow me one day to stand with those I love in the presence of God. Show more Show less
