Hi I'm Mackenzie

I collect Converse, I study elementary education, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Education has taken over my life.....but I am basically majoring in school, so it only makes sense. Right now I am studying elementary education, and I love it! I am so passionate about teaching, and I cannot wait until I have my own classroom full of excited children. I hope to teach 3rd grade, but I honestly think I would love teaching whatever grade I get. Don't get me wrong though, I do other things besides school. In my free time, which I don't have, I like to play piano and am working on teaching myself ukulele. I love art and anything crafty. Most of my extra time, though, has been devoted to the most important person in my life: my husband. My family means the world to me, especially my husband, and I can't think of anything better to do than spending time with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family of active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but although I was born into it, I actively choose to continue to follow this gospel because I know of its truthfulness. I went and sought out the truth for myself because I knew that just a knowledge that my family believed was not enough. I got my own confirmation and gained my own faith, and I know that this is indeed Christ's true and only church. It is because I sought out the truth that I am a Mormon. It makes me a better person, I am happier when I live the gospel, and I have a sense of peace living the gospel, a peace that I haven't found anywhere else.

How I live my faith

I believe that religion is not something that should just be checked at the door. I don't think that religion should be lived only when convenient. To me, religion is something that is so special and so important, and I believe should require my all. It should affect all areas of my life. So, to live my faith, I try to incorporate it into everything I do, and my faith can be seen outwardly. Aside from attending church regularly, I strive to set an example for others at all times because of the love I have for my Heavenly Father and for my Savior, Jesus Christ. As a member of Christ's church, I see it as my responsibility to stand as a witness of Him and proclaim my faith to others by trying my best to follow the path that he led. I seek out those in need, and work towards developing charity and love towards all. I also live my faith in silent, devoted ways that go unnoticed to people. I try to remain in continuous communication with God, and I pray to Him constantly. I seek His counsel and guidance and look for ways to improve my life. I do small, anonymous acts of service. I reflect on what God has done for me. So, basically I try to live my life in a way that always incorporates my faith because my faith is the most important aspect of my life.
