Hi I'm Clarissa Powell

I'm about to serve a mission in Tokyo Japan! I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to be around my family and spend time with them. Seeing them grow and accomplish different things in life makes me so happy and so grateful. Right now I am at the Provo Missionary Training center, preparing to serve 18 months as a missionary in the Japan Tokyo South Mission. I am learning Japanese and although it is hard, I know that with God's help I will be able to learn and eventually teach this gospel in the Japanese language.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized into this church when I was 8 years old, so I really don't have a fancy conversion story, or miraculous trial that brought me to this church. But, I can tell you with absolute certainty that this church is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I am a better person everyday because of the atonement of Christ and the ability to repent and be forgiven of all my sins. I love this church so much and the guidance it brings me. I am so grateful to know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and will never give up on me.

How I live my faith

I am about to serve a mission for the LDS church in Tokyo Japan that will last for a year and a half. As I prepare to serve, I often wonder if it is selfish of me to be so excited to leave my family to go spend a large portion of my life in another country. But then I remember that I am going not for myself, but for those in Japan who are searching for the truth that the gospel can bring to them. I am going on a mission so that people can come to know their Savior and discover that he loves them and will always be there for them.
