Hi I'm Bryce D. Haws

I was born in Illinois raised in Indiana and have an amazing family. I was home schooled all of my life and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Indiana in a small town with no other LDS members besides my immediate family. My grandparents on both sides joined the church when my parents were young. My parents stayed and served in the church their whole lives and I was born into the church. I have two siblings: a Brother and a Sister of which I am the oldest. I was home schooled along with my siblings from kindergarten all the way through High school until I got my GED. I enjoy playing video games and eating and love to read and listen to audio books. I play a little guitar and I find true happiness in serving in my church. I am currently preparing to serve a mission in Idaho and I am super excited for this opportunity to serve the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon since I was 8 years old. I was born into a Mormon family which has been a great blessing in my life. However, I wasn't born with a testimony of in the LDS church, that I had to find on my own. When I was a kid I thought the LDS Church was true because my parents did, but, as I've grown up I have gained a testimony for myself. It didn't just come to me like: "WHAM! I know this church is true!" It was a very gradual process that took place in my teen years. Every time that I would pray to the Lord or read the scriptures I would feel a quite subtle happiness creep into my soul. That happiness was the Spirit of the Lord and it eventually made my testimony grow stronger until I knew for myself. My Testimony is ever growing but because of my persistence to know if this church is true I have come to know for myself a few things: I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lords true church on the earth today. I also know the Joseph smith was a prophet of God and that he Translated the Book of Mormon. I also know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it supports the Bible which is also true. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the Lords prophet on the earth today. And lastly I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of our world. That he died for us and was raised again on the third day. I know that because of his Sacrifice we can all return to our Father in Heaven who knows each of us and loves us all. I know these things because I prayed to know if they were true and over the years I got my answer. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I attend Church every Sunday where I teach a primary class! This calling has been a great blessing in my life as I have seen the wonderful spirits the kids in my class have. It has also helped me prepare for my mission which I have been preparing for since I too was in primary. I have been serving in callings in my church since I was a young teen. Because of those callings and the calling I serve in now I have been lead by the Lord to a path that has helped me become a better person. I have made mistakes like everybody, but thanks to the Savior I was able to repent and continue to strive towards my goal of becoming more like Jesus Christ.
