Hi I'm Sara

I'm a world traveler. I'm a university student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Canada to an American family. I lived there for eight years, mostly in Toronto, Ontario. I moved to Idaho for a year, before living in Perth, Western Australia for the next five years. From there, I lived in Spokane, Washington. I was there for two and a half years before going to Asia for six months. I spent most of my time in the Philippines, but I also spent a month in Nepal and visited Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia. I went to University for a year and a half in Pullman, Washington, and then moved back home to Spokane for health reasons. I took a break from school for a few years, and now I’m a student at Eastern Washington University. I’m planning on transferring one more time, so that I can continue to pursue a degree in neuroscience. I love anything that helps me learn and grow academically and as a person. I have been so blessed in my life to have had a wide range of experiences, both good and bad, and have been able to learn some very personal and valuable lessons from both. My interests mostly involve school. I haven’t taken a class that I haven’t enjoyed yet. Beyond that, I love singing, painting, the piano, and snowboarding, among other things.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I rely on the strength, peace, and happiness that it provides in my life. It centers me, guides me, gives me direction, and helps me understand what I should do and who I should be. I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true, and as I have sought to live according to the teachings of Christ, I have found happiness in difficult circumstance, strength beyond my own, and a comforting feeling of the love and awareness that our Father in Heaven has for me and for all of His children. I have been so grateful for those blessings, and I continue to be grateful for them as I press forward in my life.

How I live my faith

I make regular scripture study and prayer a priority in my life, both personally and as a family. They have always been such a great source of strength and peace to me. Serving others is also something that helps me show my love for the Savior and my commitment to living how He would have me. Right now, I serve by teaching the three-year-olds gospel lessons each Sunday at church. I try to live my life in a way that I can be proud of, that Heavenly Father would be proud of, and that influences the people around me positively. I try to be who the Savior would have me be, and although I am imperfect and make plenty of mistakes, I believe in the power of the Atonement. I believe that I can learn, grow, and improve, and daily come closer to reaching my full potential.
