Hi I'm Rachel

I am a small town girl from Idaho. I love adventure of any kind, especially pole vaulting. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I has raised on a small farm with 7 siblings. There is never a dull moment and I love adventures. In high school I did many activities, I am a go getter, and love to be always going and workingl. I qualified for national Business Professionals of America twice, was Key Club President, and was a state champion in Basketball, along with many other things. Shortly after graduating I attended Brigham Young University- Idaho where I am currently majoring in Accounting with a minor in Web Design. I love all things business and look forward to the future with the many goals I hope to achieve. I have committed to sacrifice a year and a half, where I will serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I never questioned the church. It was who our family was and what we did. Siblings seemed to be the perfect children, never questioning what we did each day. I guess I never did either, until one day I wanted to know how this came to be. A series of events took place, and then one day I knelt down and asked why we did the things we did, and if it was what I was supposed to be doing. I know without a doubt that this is the true church. Joseph Smith was seeking an answer and he did see God the Father and his Son. He questioned his beliefs, and was answered. We can find the truth as we seek answers to the questions we have. I am a mormon because of the strength it gives me each day. It gives me purpose, and ability to choose what I know is right. I know that we have a prophet on the earth today who communicates with Heavenly Father, in order to know what we need. We can communicate with him also, and find how we can become more like him, so that one day we can live with him again. And o how grateful I am for this knowledge in my life.

How I live my faith

I love designing and creating things, especially if it benifits others. As a senior in high school, I wanted to make a difference and help someone in need. The oppurtunity came and I ran with it. The elementary library was a major concern for many teachers and parents. Some changes had been made but with limited funds the needs of the students were not being met. I had helped my mom edit a few grants will working for an engineering company, so I suggested we get money through a grant. I was the writer of the grant, and the grant was awarded. The change that occured was spectacular. Through the talents of each individual we are able to accomplish so much more. I live my faith by doing what I can to help and serve those around me. In my family I have had to learn how to understand my purpose and do the best I can where I am at. Serving does not have to be a burden, but a blessing as I reach those who need my talents and abilities that I have been blessed with.
