Hi I'm Sara

Collegiate Athlete at UVU. Serving as a missionary in the England London Mission and LOVING IT. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 4 kids and have 3 younger crazy little brothers that I absolutely adore. I play collegiate soccer at UVU and absolutely love the sport and my team. I have basically grown up on a soccer field which has allowed me opportunities for learning and growth. I would say that my experiences playing soccer have really shaped who I am today because of the experiences I have had but more importantly the people I have met. I also enjoy spending time outside in the beautiful mountains of Utah and being adventurous. I love to rock climb, hike, rollerblade, and draw with sidewalk chalk. I love spending time with my brothers because they always can give me a reason to smile.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up being an active member of the Church. As I look back over my life, my testimony did not come from one defining moment, but has been shaped because of many small experiences that I have had. As I have strived to lived the gospel and keep the commandments, I am continually filled with peace and happiness in this life. That is what the gospel is all about. It brings us peace and happiness in this life and eternal salvation in the next. Very simply put, I have a firm and unshakeable testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ. I know that it is because of Him I can always have someone to turn to when I need it. He is my strength. He is my joy. He is everything to me and because of Him, I have no reason to fear.

How I live my faith

My faith is central to everything that I do and my testimony is the most prized possession that I have. I love spending time with God every day through studying His word in the scriptures and being on my knees in prayer. Through personal experience, I know that if I make time for God each day, my life will be infinitely blessed by Him. My faith is so important to me and has blessed my life in so many ways that I want nothing more than to share it with others. I have recently been called to serve in the England London Mission and in doing so have given up my soccer scholarship at UVU. This was easily the hardest but also the easiest decision I have ever made. I love soccer and my team so much, but I love the Lord more. I have faith that He will bless me because of my willingness and sacrifice to serve him as a full time missionary. Missionary work is not something that I think should be only for those serving as a full time missionary. I have really taken the phrase "every member a missionary" to heart and will be a missionary for the rest of my life. I am always looking for others to serve or to share my testimony with. Another way that I strive to live my faith is by spending time in the house of God. Over the last 5 years I have attended the temple every week. I cannot even tell you how that has changed my life. When I am in the temple I am reminded of why we are here on this earth and I always leave with a strengthened resolution to walk in the ways of God. I absolutely love being in the temple.
