Hi I'm Anthony

I'm an Actor. I'm an Athlete. I'm a Musician. I love to have a good time. I enjoy traveling and being outdoors. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am an avid competitor. I am the kind of person that can turn anything into a competition, and I don't like to lose. I wrestled through high school, but I love all sports, except maybe basketball, because I am not very good at it. I have played piano for thirteen years, and guitar for 2. I love to play and sing, and I love writing my own songs. I enjoy lifting weights, especially with my friends, so we push each other extra hard. I was the lead my senior year in my first and only high school play: Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. I love to cook good food, but I love eating it even more. I am an avid outdoorsman, I love to get out of the city as often as I can. Some of my favorite activities include: Fishing, Hunting, Camping, Backpacking, Cliff Jumping, and my most favorite of them all is Snowboarding.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of one word: Happiness. I constantly try to imagine what my life would be like without having been taught the standards of the church. I honestly believe that I would be a very vulgar person, and I know that I would not have true happiness. The church has more than anything taught me to be happy. I do this by appreciating the beauties of everything around me. Anytime I see something beautiful, intricate, unique, or just cool, I cannot help but think that God created, or inspired the creation of all of these amazing works. I know that he did this as an outward expression of his love for me, and for all of his children, and because I know this, I feel happy all the time. I am so grateful for this, because we live in a world where gloom and sorrow prevail; bad news is always around; and most people just don't care. Yet amidst all of this, God manifests Himself constantly through the beauty of the world I live in and the life I live, and that makes me happy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by letting my beliefs shine through my daily actions. I strive to find ways to help people, whether by physically doing things for them, or by just being friendly and trying to let some of my happiness radiate onto them. I teach young children in my ward, and I work through the week to try and prepare meaningful lessons so they can grow into great young men and women. I will for the next two years be living my faith full-time, and sharing it as I will be serving a full-time mission for the Church in Mozambique, Africa.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Anthony
The Atonement of Jesus Christ was perhaps the most important, pivotal, crowning event in all of human history. When Jesus Christ, the only perfect mortal to walk the earth, took it upon himself to suffer for our sins in the garden of Gethsemane, dies for our sins upon the cross at Golgotha, and rose again from the tomb on the third day, he created the gate whereby all of us imperfect people could return to live with him again. Because of this atonement, we can be forgiven of our sins no matter how grievous, by choosing to accept him, and striving to be like him. He does not give His atonement however, unless me try. If we are constantly doing all we are capable of to be like him we will be saved. The best part is that he doesn't require that we succeed. Only that we put forth our best effort, and that by consistently doing so, we will eventually become perfect, even as he is. Show more Show less
