Hi I'm Ardel

I was born in Idaho and grew up in South Ogden, Utah. I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have spent most of my life in Utah. I grew up in a family that enjoyed the outdoors. The highlight of the summer was backpacking in the Uinta mountains. Now I enjoy doing the same thing with my own family although we don't go as frequently as in my youth. I graduated from college with a degree in Business Information Systems and have enjoyed working in software development for many years. At the end of a long day there is nothing better than coming home and spending time with my family. Whether it's eating together, reading, or working on craft projects together, they are the ones that bring the greatest joy into my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and raised up in the faith. My parents encouraged me to learn for myself whether or not the Mormon faith was true. Through study and prayer I have come to a personal understanding that this faith is truly from God. He has organized his church with prophets and apostles who receive revelation from Him. I have learned through personal experience that God loves all his people and that he lives today and communicates his will to their hearts and minds. Personal revelation is real. I choose to continue as a member of his church because of the personal feelings he has given me in answer to my prayers. When I live my faith and serve others I feel good.

How I live my faith

The highlight of my week is attending worship services on Sunday. That is where I go to recharge my battery and to associate with others who share similar beliefs. I love the Lord and the commandments he has given to help me find joy, peace and happiness as I face the challenges of life. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) I have gained a greater understanding of what the Lord expects of me and what I need to do to succeed in life. As a Mormon we have opportunities to server our fellow men. As a young man I spent two years preaching the gospel in South America. As an adult I have been able to work with youth by taking them on camping trips and helping them in the scouting program. As a Sunday School teacher I have learned more about the gospel by studying and preparing lessons and then sharing that learning with class members.
