Hi I'm John

While working in Grand Junction Colorado, I was re-activated as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

About Me

I am retired after working for forty years in the Railroad Industry. My real hobby is touring on my Harley-Davidson motorcycle, where I have enjoyed meeting many diverse people. My Wife and my Son both ride their own bikes, but my daughters prefer to have four wheels under themselves. I love to raise a garden each year and have shared our harvest of fruits and vegetables with many of of our neighbors.

Why I am a Mormon

We are told that Man is that he might have joy! This joy comes to me from being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where I have been able to come closer unto Christ and receive of his love. Before I was reactivated the joy I sought was a fleeting worldly joy that dissipated quickly. A joy that one constantly needed to pursue, only to disappear and leave oneself empty. The light of Christ has filled my soul beyond capacity with a desire to be in the service of my fellow man, which increases my joy!

How I live my faith

I have held many clerical positions for both my work and for our local church meetinghouse. I was recently released from my church assignments to pursue a full time mission with my wife. We will be working with youth missionaries who are unable to do a conventional mission for one reason or another, helping them to build life skills for their future. I have a firm testimony of my calling as a home teacher. I was reactivated to the church because of the love and compassion shown to our family by our home teacher in Grand Junction Colorado. I hope to be able to pay it forward in some small fashion throughout the remainder of my life.
