Hi I'm Eliza

I was raised in Sydney, Australia. I'm Filipina. I love my family deeply. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love learning about history. I love reading fairytales and I've read soo many. I'd love to go to Uni and major in a subject that will give me a career in helping others. My childhood dream is to open a school that will be a learning sanctuary to children.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converts to this gospel and raised us kids to believe in it. Let me tell you one thing about my childhood: it was awesome. I lived with a passionate belief of my divine inheritance- with the knowledge that I am a child of God, and that if I'm good enough, I'm entitled to everything He has. Everytime I had a dilemma in life (mind you, my childhood cares were never that serious) I always turned to my Heavenly Father. And just like he promises in the scriptures, Heavenly Father had ways of letting me know he's there for me - through other people! (See Matthew 9:38 King James Version). I grew up learning that God wants us to be with our families together forever, and that through our Saviour Jesus Christ this is possible. Our dreams are within reach Because Of Him. As a child I knew what true peace felt like. As an adult I want other people to know how to achieve peace. It's found in trusting in God. It's found in letting Him change us. It's found in humility, and service, and charitable love. True peace found is in the joys of the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which is growing gospel, and an everlasting gospel. If anyone decides to ever live this gospel (see John 7:17 King James Version), I promise they will find true happiness. I promise they will not regret it. There are many ways to start the journey to true happiness. But I think the best way to start is by making an appointment with the missionaries. :)

How I live my faith

I am grateful to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I cannot pick one definitive moment in life whereupon I came across the realisation that God lives, Jesus Christ is our Saviour and His church is on the earth today. It came gradually. I love inviting all my friends to learn more about Jesus Christ. In 2014 I was called to be a Sunday School teacher to the 16 - 17 year olds. I had just turned 18, and thought I'd be leaving that class for good! It was a great learning experience and taught me that Heavenly Father likes to push us out of our comfort zone because he wants what is best for us. My one goal in life is to be like Jesus Christ (My favourite children's hymn to play on piano is titled "I'm trying to be like Jesus" :D).

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Eliza
Like all Christians, we believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God. We love Him as though he were a real person, a real God (because He is!), and we speak His name is reverence. For me, I love my Saviour Jesus Christ. I know that He suffered for all our sins, and that by doing so, He understands our pains in depth. I also know that he sacrificed His life for us, and that He is risen! And because of this, we will ALL one day be resurrected from the dead and gain immortality. The Lord Jesus Christ lives, He has established his church as he once did in the Meridian of time. His is an everlasting love and an everlasting gospel. Mormons do believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Although not everyone is aware, we all owe it to him to try our best to live righteously. We cannot be perfect, yet Jesus Christ has paid for our sins. To pay him back, we must repent. I am forever grateful for His example, and sacrifice, and love. I want to be like the Lord Jesus Christ.
