Hi I'm Ryan Darby

I'm a writer, I'm a history geek, I really love power metal music, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I was very young, I was diagnosed with a form of autism known as Asperger's Syndrome. This condition has affected my life greatly, with ups as well as downs. For example, I have difficulty understanding some social cues that others pick up easily, but I have a powerful memory for trivia, and an always-pondering mind. I love to think about concepts and ideas that I have read about. I greatly enjoy history, and have a wide variety of interests in that field. When I have finished my college schooling, I intend to go into the field of history; I want to share my boundless love for history with everyone I can, in order to ensure that anybody and everybody will be able to share my fascination for all the various events that have gone on in human existence. I'd like to be a real-life Indiana Jones, but failing that, I'd love to work on fun documentaries to make learning history fun. My my hobbies and interests include Middle Ages history, history of the 1800s, 1900s, and 2000s, fantasy and sci-fi novels, writing, goofy TV shows, politics, power metal music, musicals, and a lot of other things.

Why I am a Mormon

It's simple, because I am a Mormon, born and raised, and after studying other religions, I'm sticking with this one.

How I live my faith

I try my best to live according to the atonement of Jesus Christ, and to pick myself up after encountering obstacles. It's as simple as that. I try to treat others in my community as the Savior would. I know I'm not perfect, but I try.
