Hi I'm Shem Liechty

I am a loving Son, A Missionary, A Student, And Im a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving as a Missionary In the beautiful Alpine German speaking mission, I Love my family and I love life, I swim for fun and competition. I love my Friends, River rafting, Music, and Rugby.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in a LDS Family and I was brought up to know and love God and to know that He is there for me. But I never really asked my self if this Church that I was baptized into was true. When I was a Senior in high school I was able to help some one who I loved be baptized. And during that I was asked if I could give my testimony, And I could not do it fully to where I felt like I helped. So I resolved to read the book of Mormon and gain my testimony. As I began to study the chapters, I felt a feeling of peace and understanding that I am truly a son of God. But I still felt like I had not gained a Testimony. When I finished the Book of Mormon I did as Moroni asked. Like I said above I knew that God love me, But when I knelt and asked if this was true. A feeling of love and it seemed like a person was hugging me and telling me that I was loved and yes this was true. And that is my testimony.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching others the love that Christ has for us every day and to show that love to people who I don't know helps me build my faith and my love for my Brothers and sisters.

What is the First Vision?

Shem Liechty
Our frist prophet for the church of Jesus Christ Joseph Smith, had questions about what churh he should join beuse during the time of 1820 There were a lot of diffrent kinds of churchs going around saying that they what they tought wasright and the other chruchs were false and that all needed to be baptized. Joseph Smith was reading in James chapter 1: 5 and 6 and he came upon this vers If any of you lack wisdom let him ask of god that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” Joseph decided to accept the invitation to ask God. In the spring of 1820, Joseph went to a grove of trees near his home and prayed to learn which church he should join. In answer to his prayer, Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to him. Joseph wrote: “When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the otherThis is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!” Joseph was told to join none of the churches that existed at that time as the priesthood authority and Church as Jesus Christ had organized it when He was on the earth had been lost over the centuries. What do Mormons believe about family?

Shem Liechty
We believe the family to be ordained from God. And that it is a blessing to us during times when are not so good. We also believe that family's can be for eternity. Why something so good only last for short time? We believe that they are for all eternity and that we can see all of our loved ones again and that no one is lost. Show more Show less
