Hi I'm Keely Abplanalp

My name is Keely. I'm on a mission in Portland, Oregon and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Keely and in April I'm leaving to Portland to serve a mission. I work as a CNA for a perfect little girl with special needs and I love it! I'm the oldest in my family with two brothers and seven sisters. I love to ski, hike, swim, camp, see friends, and play guitar and piano.

Why I am a Mormon

I know this church is true! I feel it's true when I read my scriptures. When I feel a sense of peace and comfort . I feel the church is true when I go to church because I feel the spirit so strongly. Partaking of the sacrament is amazing because you remember the atonment and how much God loves us. I love listening to the speakers to enlighten and to learn. I feel the church is true when I say my prayers becuase I know Heavenly Father is listening to me. And I know that our prayers are answered! I feel that the church is true when I bear my testimoney. When I do I feel the spirit testifying what I say is true. I love the atonment and I love Heavenly Father and all he and his son have done for us. I love the feeling that I know I'm doing the right when I follow the commandments and listen to the prophets. I love the sense of peace I feel with the spirit. I love this church.

How I live my faith

Living your faith has to be an all day everyday thing. And when I think about how I live my faith Mosiah 18:9 comes to mind and it says "stand as [a] witness of god at all times and in all things and in all places that ye may be in". And Elder D Todd Christofferson, one of the 12 apostles states, "We are witnesses of Jesus Christ when we live so as to reflect His teachings. The way we act, speak, look, and even think should reflect Him and His ways". So to live my faith I try to be a witness of Christ. To have my actions and conduct reflect, to the best of my abilities, Christ's conduct. By doing the small and simple things such as reading our scriptures, prayer, and going to church, we can deepening our conviction, strengthening our testimonies, and become more Christlike. While Christ was on earth he did many amazing things but, two stick out to me when I think about the question "how I live my faith". The first one is Christ set the ultimate example for us. He showed us how to live. He taught us to love God, to help others, and be obedient. And the other is He set up His church on the earth. By following his example and living and participating in Christ church is how to follow Christ and how I try and live my faith. When I do follow Christ's teaching and follow his example I feel my faith grow stronger.
