Hi I'm Treston Namok

I was born in Mackay Australia. I discovered the gospel by my younger cousin who led my family to the truth. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I live in Brisbane, Australia with a beautiful family from church. I attend university and am studying a Business Degree majoring in Human Resource Management. I did not finish school however did complete a Diploma in Management and now finishing a Diploma of Business whilst working a job and taking on further Church commitments. I have two younger sisters both of which are Filipino and my Mum. Our family are Torres Strait Islander, Samoan and Malaysian background. I love music, travelling, adventures, the great outdoors and have a passion for learning Japanese. Someday I want to be a loving father and have a amazing job working in the International Business Industry.

Why I am a Mormon

Being only 18 years old and living in a state of unhappiness, one night I prayed to God for help that he may allow me to escape from a unhappy state of life. He came through for me months later down the track where my cousin introduced the gospel to me and our family. I became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I knew through my savior Jesus Christ and my Father in Heaven, I would definitely have a chance for happiness. Not only that but, to make it to live with my family forever and to live with God someday I had to make changes in order for those goals in my life to happen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by making efforts to Prayer and read my scriptures often. Attending the temple as frequent as possible also attend Family Home Evening events with my family. I have a calling as Ward Missionary where I work primarily with the YSA (Young Single Adults) and missionaries of my ward. My focus and goal in my calling is to work with fellow YSA members and missionaries to help non member investigators of the church become more welcomed, more familiar with members and allowing them to learn more of what we know to be true by inviting investigators to ward events and family home evenings.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Treston Namok
From personal discovery, I have found that by reading my scriptures first thing in the morning gives me strength needed to get through everyday life even when I'm having the worst day, I can reflect back when I did something that was good about my day which s reading my scriptures and coming closer to my Heavenly Father and saviour Jesus Christ. I love how from reading the Book of Mormon, Bible and other scriptures I can feel the Holy Ghost at all times with me. A peaceful and loving feeling most describable and encouraged all that read this message to try for yourselves to make daily efforts to read from the Holy Scriptures everyday preferably in the morning to start your day off to a great start.
