Do you want to chat with a missionary?

We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hi I'm Jonothan

I grew up in South Africa. I enjoy research and writing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy research, writing, teaching, and learning. I am a young single adult with one year of university experience, working as a Pricing Supervisor, and preparing to serve a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Additionally, I attend expos such as Geekfest, Medieval Fayre, and rAge; and recently, I've started LARPing.

Why I am a Mormon

I always felt that something was missing in each of the churches I attended and, even though I gave the missionaries such a hard time, I kept going back. Something inside me whispered, "It is true." "I knew it. And I knew that God knew it. And I could not deny it."

How I live my faith

I'm a Ward Missionary, so I spend a lot of my time with missionaries; fellowshiping, teaching, and serving. I spend a great deal of my time informing others (family, friends, and strangers) about the Gospel, as I'm the only member in my family. Sometimes I teach Sunday School classes and fill in for our Ward Mission Leader at weekly meetings. Home Teaching shouldn't be an option, so you can add that as well.

Are Mormons Christians?

Jonothan
Yes, we are Christians. We are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is His Church and He is the head. He is our Lord, Savior, Redeemer and King, and we follow Him. He is the center of our faith and everything we teach testifies of Him, His divinity, and Resurrection. We do all things in the name of the Only Begotten, even Jesus Christ. It is the first covenant we make as Latter-day Saints in the waters of baptism, to take upon us the name of Jesus Christ. We are called Saints in concordance with scripture, and Mormons according to popular culture. And we are Christians because we follow Him. Show more Show less
