Hi I'm Jessica

I'm a laid back Seattlite who loves skiing and canyoneering. I want to be a math teacher and travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student and studying mathematics education. I want to teach at a community college one day. I love being outside! I like skiing, canyoneering, biking and am training to run my first half-marathon. I also love to read, play the piano, and go to musicals.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a child, I didn't feel loved. I remember one night kneeling down and praying to know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ lived and loved me and I remember being overcome with a feeling of overwhelming love, so much so that I began to cry. It's because of this experience and many other experiences that I choose to follow Christ. I know that God lives and is very aware of us. He has blessed us with a prophet to guide us and help us through our life so that one day we can return to live with our Father in heaven. In addition to the prophet we have a strong community in the church, scriptures, good leaders and the gift of prayer to help us along the way. Living the principles taught by the church make me happy and help me feel close to God. Because of this, I am a mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to do what Christ would do. I go to church on Sundays to learn more about Christ and to make special promises with him. I play the piano for our congregation's choir. I participate in activities my church's organization for women plan. I visit other people in the congregation and spend time with them. The gospel makes me happy so I try to share my happiness with other people.
