Hi I'm Brett

I was born and raised in Utah and I will be serving a 2 year mission in Lansing, Michigan Spanish speaking I report Dec. 3rd 2014

About Me

I am 19 years old and I am currently preparing to leave on a two year mission. a few things I enjoy doing are horse back riding, camping, boating, sports and pretty much anything outdoors. I also have gotten into photography a lot this past year and I have really enjoyed it. through out all of high school I played football and it was what helped through a lot of things. my senior year I blew my knee out 3 games before our state championship game. it was one of the hardest things to do sitting on the sideline and watch during our state game but I knew and had faith in all brothers on the field and that no matter what happened everything would be ok. in that game we ended up going into overtime and barely came out with a win it was one of the most intense and emotional games I have ever seen. I later got surgery in November by a doctor who was supposed to be very good at what he did but six months down the road and my knee was still not feeling better. I went to another doctor to have my knee looked at and he said that the previous doctor did not fix anything. So I was put on a list for cadaver parts and almost exactly a year from my previous surgery they called me in for my second surgery. They completely replaced my 93 percent shredded lateral meniscus and put in a new ACL I spent 7 hours on the surgery table for this. watching all my friends leave while I was stuck at home was so hard for me but I knew I had to keep working on preparing to go on a mission. and now here I am.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my parents are Mormon and because I was raised in the church. but also because I know that this is the true church and I have testimony of the Book of Mormon and of the prophet and of the holy ghost. I know that if we keep the commandments and strive to do our best that the Lord will bless our lives. I love the gospel and the scriptures and I love being a Mormon and I don't know what I would do without the church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every week and participating in church activities. I also work hard to read my scriptures every day and pray every morning and night. I attend mission prep as much as possible and strive to do service in my community when I can. I live my faith by being a good friend to others and by trying to set a good example. another way I live my faith is by working hard for a year and half to since my knee surgery to be able to go on a mission and serve the lord for two years and preach the gospel and I would encourage all youth to do what ever it takes to be able to go on a mission.
