Why I am a Mormon

Initially, I became a Mormon or member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because my parents are members of the church. I have been taught these wonderful teaching since I was a little girl. I stayed active as a Mormon because of the testimony I have gained of it's truth. Through my personal study, attending church and seminary, and inquiries of the gospel, I gained a knowledge of Christ and his teachings which then strengthened my testimony. The gospel has always been a base for any decision or action I make. I love it! and the more I learn the more I love! I love the feeling I get when I feel the Spirit! I know that by reading the Book of Mormon I can recieve counsel and have the Spirit with me! I also know that the Holy Ghost can be with me wherever I go, to keep me safe and to comfort me. I know that prayer is a way to talk to my Heavenly Father. He listens to everything I say. I can pray whenever I need it and in any situation. To ask for guideness, safety, comfort, and to thank Him for all that he has given us. I know that my body is a gift from God, and it should be treated like a temple. I know that through the Plan of Salvation, my family can be together forever. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet and gives us guidness from our Heavenly Father even today and specifically for our day. Jesus Christ lived and died for us. His perfectly selfless act enables us to return to our Heavenly Father. We are able to repent for our sins. I need Christ in my life daily. I know that the commandments are guidleines that have been given to us because Christ wants more than anything for us to return to Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by not only attending church ince a week, but by remembering Christ daily. Reading my scriptures, praying, serving others, and showing grattitude are a few ways I, and many others, can do so! The calling I have right now in my ward is an FHE mom. This means I am in charge of planning an activity once a week where a few members of my ward meet together to share thoughts and feel the spirit and also to play games, eat yummy treats, and to make great friends! Another calling most women of our church have is to visit teach! This is awesome because we get to know other women in our wards on a more personal level. We are there to teach and help them whenever they may need it! I have also been called to serve a mission!!! I am assigned to labor in the Washington Everett Mission! I am really excited to serve the Lord and the people of Washington! I am going to be speaking Spanish on my mission so I have started learning! I will leave in February! One of my favorite ways to live my fatih is by attending the Temple. When I go there I get to perform baptisms for the dead. It is a really neat experience and I am lucky to live in a place where there are so many Temples nearby! I hope to one day be able to visit every Temple in the world! I go to the Temple whenever I feel sad, stressed, or just need some peace. I always leave feeling happy and filled with the spirit. I don't have to go in to feel the Spirit, just being on the grounds and looking at it is enough. Its my kind of sanctuary.
