Hi I'm Aaron

I am from the United States. I love going out and teaching with the Mormon Missionaries. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I like to do a wide variety of things, especially outdoors. I love hiking, swimming, climbing, camping, fishing, and exploring! I often times will go and swim in rivers or boogie board in rapids. I enjoy long boarding, playing basketball, and playing billiards. I went on a twelve day hiking trip at Philmont Scout Camp, and consider it one of the best experiences of my life. I like to stay active and I try to stay in shape. I value my family and my friends, and take whatever opportunity I can to spend time with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this church is true. I have seen many miracles in my life, and continue to see them. I know I am here today because of miracles. Being born into this church, it has always been a part of my life. Half of my family members fell away from the church however, and they sometimes attempted to get me to fall away too. I asked God for help a lot, and me comforted me. He let me know I was doing the right thing and helped me to feel great. Because of this, I stuck to the church. I have always known this church was true though, and I have continued to see proof of that in my life. I have seen miracles because of people obeying the teachings of the Bible and the teachings of the Book of Mormon. I know ANYBODY can know that this church is true if they keep their heart open and pray to God. Read the Book of Mormon, it has answered many of the struggles in my life. Jesus Christ is my redeemer. He payed the price for my sins, and I know with a surety that He perfectly understands all the feelings I have felt in my life. I am not alone because of Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that it testifies of Christ. That book will bring you closer to God than any of book will. I know that there is a Prophet today and you can read his words, and those words come from God. I know Joseph Smith really did see God and Jesus Christ, and Joseph Smith really did restore The Church of Jesus Christ. I know that if you are baptized, and follow the teachings found within the Bible and Book of Mormon, you will live with Heavenly Father again in His Kingdom. God loves you and I, and we are His children. We have a marvelous expectation and destiny set out for us, and we can live up to it as we strive to follow Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am a Mormon, and not a passive one either. I serve as a ward missionary, which means I help the missionaries in my area teach people. I go out with the missionaries as often as I can, and consider them to be some of my best friends. I am also called to be a home teacher, which means I visit families from that are in my church. I fulfill my duties each month in these two jobs, and love to do so! I am 19, and spend a lot of time with the youth in my ward. I love being a member, and it makes me smile when I can say I am doing everything I can to help my ward out. I am preparing to go to Argentina to serve a mission, I can hardly wait!

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints supports The Bible's and The Book of Mormon's teachings completely. We believe that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever and as such His laws never change. Just like Paul the apostle taught in The Bible's New Testament, we believe homosexuality to be a sin. (Read Romans 1:24-32) Within our church, you cannot participate in any homosexual activities and still remain in sync with the Church's teachings. We still believe however, that God loves all of His children. We do not condemn these people or refuse to be their friends. Through Faith in Jesus Christ's Atonement, and through praying and support - I know people can forsake their desires to be homosexual. Everyone has particular sins that they are susceptible to, and for many people same sex attraction can be that sin. You can overcome the desires you feel to be homosexual. Any desire you feel to be with someone of the same gender can be replaced with desires to serve God. The reward of obeying God and following Jesus Christ's example is more than well worth the sacrifice it takes to do so. I know anyone can put away their same sex attraction, and eventually become attracted and get married to someone of the opposite gender. God approves the union of man to woman. Those who have acted on homosexual inclinations can repent, and those who do not act on these inclinations will be blessed. Show more Show less
