Hi I'm Morgan

I was raised LDS in a small city in Utah. I am currently serving a mission in Oklahoma City Oklahoma.

About Me

I graduated from high school with my Associate's Degree. I enjoy playing chess, stratego, and basically any other sort of board or card game; I also enjoy a lot of video games; I really enjoy books. I've read a lot, but my favorite fiction book so far is The Way of Kings, which is an epic fantasy novel. My favorite non-fiction book is The Book of Mormon! I played the clarinet for 4 years and really enjoyed that, and I also play and enjoy most sports. Though, admittedly, I don't play most sports well. When I was younger I didn't always do the right thing. Haha, I still don't always. But that's what life is about: learning to be better.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a "Mormon" because I know that it is the one and only true church on the Earth today. Nothing else makes sense logically, intuitively, or spiritually. A few years back, my cousin, Shakeara, died. She was one of the kindest and gentlest people I know. However, God saw fit to give her a great many pains and sufferings. I'm not entirely sure what her medical condition was, only that her circulatory system was messed up, and her body sometimes attacked itself. Eventually, God called her home. I didn't understand this: Why would God give such a wonderful person such a short and painful life? I didn't know. So, I resorted to what we learn in The Book of Mormon: I prayed with real intent (meaning to act on my answer) with faith in Jesus Christ, believing that I would receive an answer. And I did. I felt peace and comfort. Perhaps you might say to yourself that this peace and comfort were the fatigued mind consoling itself for the night. But I know it wasn't. This peace and comfort was of God. I knew that she was now more happy and peaceful than she had ever been on Earth. I knew and know that she was called home because it was her time to return to God. Through prayer, I have received a personal testimony from the Holy Spirit that this is the true church. I know that Jesus is the Christ; That He atoned for all our sins and that he loves each and every one of us. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God; I know that he restored the church in these latter days via revelation from God. I know that as you study The Book of Mormon, and pray about it, that you (like I) can receive a personal witness of its truthfulness, and of the truthfulness of God, Jesus Christ, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or the "Mormon" church. I know that you will receive peace and comfort as you do so.

How I live my faith

I participate in my community by trying to be an example of what I think other people should be like and do. Maybe that isn't the best thing. Maybe I could be more active in politics, or ask people to do things. But, I think that the best way to show what I believe is by showing how I act. Show, don't tell. The Savior set an example and asked for us to be an example of the believers. That's what I strive to be. In keeping with the Savior though, I do share the gospel. Currently, I am serving my two year mission in Oklahoma City Oklahoma and I'm enjoying every second of it!
