Hi I'm Christian

Most of my life I spent braving the freezing cold of Alaska. I love to downhill ski. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah but have grown up in Alaska most my life. Due to my growing up in the far North I have come to love the cold and the snow. Sure it's miserable when it's minus 40, but it makes for a good story. I like many winter sports but my favorite is downhill skiing by far. I love to go and hit the slopes with my family and friends. My brother and I love to see who can throw the better trick off of the jumps on the hill. I graduated in 2014 and plan on attending college in the next few years. Currently, I am going to serve a 2 year mission in Spain. Half way through my senior year my family moved to Cuba and I have greatly enjoyed the ocean. Sure I miss the cold and the snow, but the ocean is another great adventure. Snorkeling and scuba diving have been a blast and are quite different from Alaska's frozen tundra. I enjoy life and can't wait to start my next adventure.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ has had a major impact on my life. Through it I have been able to grow closer to Christ and my Heavenly Father. Throughout Christ's entire life he served others. His whole mission was to spread the message of hope and serve those around him. That is why I love this gospel. It is completely focussed on service; always thinking of others before yourself, just like Christ. That is the reason I have chosen to serve a 2 year mission; to serve my fellow brothers and sisters and spread the word of God. It has brought me so much joy and I hope I can help others find that same joy. The knowledge of eternal families is another reason I love this gospel. Knowing that I can be with my family after this life is a huge blessing and comfort. Christ was the perfect example and through him we are able to live with our Heavenly father again. That is why I love this gospel; it gives me hope for a brighter future.

How I live my faith

I have grown up in the Church and have only seen it bring blessings into my life. Being a young man in our religious community I was provided with many opportunities to serve those around me. Still being young I was usually annoyed when asked to do work or go visit someone in the Ward; however, as I was able to actually get in and serve those in our community I learned to love the work and always had a great feeling when I was done. Christ was the ultimate example of service and that is what it is all about; being able to help others who can't help themselves. I have had the opportunity to go to members houses once a month and be able to help with any of their needs, and it is great. I have also been able to enjoy the scouting program with other boys my age. It is a great opportunity to share the gospel through our example to the other scout troops.
