Hi I'm Savanna

I grew up in North Carolina. I am a former military wife and stay-at-home mother of four. I'm a Mormon

About Me

As a former military spouse, I have moved around and traveled a bit. One of the highlights was living in Germany even though we went through lengthy separations there as a family. I had four children in just under seven years and they keep me busy but it's the best job in the world! I have a Bachelor's degree in sociology and have loved looking at others from a different perspective. Our family is racially blended and being able to join the two cultures has been fun. Meeting and befriending new and different people from various backgrounds is important to me. I really enjoy serving others and strive to do that as often as possible to the best of my ability. I enjoy anything outside, basketball, reading (mostly classics and fantasy), learning anything and everything, cooking and baking, and developing new skills like gardening and crafting (I only do it if there's a purpose). I'm pretty good a organizing and have come to desire to go back to school for a Master's of Nutrition. For now though, I am wife to my entrepreneur husband and mommy to my four crazy blessings!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because years ago two sister missionaries took the time to visit a man they'd never met with a wife and daughter they didn't know about. As soon as they told me that God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost were three separate beings and that the Lord answered Joseph's Smith's prayer, I felt a stiring in my heart that these things are true. I thought, as an 11 year old child, that if Jesus answers my prayers as a child and had prophets in the Bible, why can't He do the same today? Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever! Deciding to join the church has taught me more about Him, His atonement, and has brought me closer to my Savior than I ever knew was possible. As I have striven to abide by the teachings of the Church, my life is happier and fuller. I KNOW I have a Father in Heaven looking out for me because because I am HIS. I AM a child of God. I know that as I strive daily to choose the right or to repent when I make mistakes that I become more like him and that brings me so much joy! I also know that the TRUE gospel has been restored on the earth and that families can be forever through the beautiful blessings of the temple. The Church is true and Jesus Christ LIVES!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving daily to find ways to loving serve those around me. It brings so much joy to help others and to make others' burdens light. I volunteer with Meals on Wheels (with kids in tow), in my kids' school, and teach preschool in a community co-op. I am always willing to take on extra kids, clean someone's home, visit the sick or elderly, and make meals or treats to those in need. I serve in the ward as a ward missionary and serve with the full time missionaries by striving to find those who are interested in the gospel and sharing my love for it with those I meet. My favorite calling is always that of a visiting teacher- the assignment each sister has to watch over a few sisters prayerfully assigned to her. I strive to love my sisters by sincerely befriending them and caring for them the best I can.
