Hi I'm Josh

I grew up on Canada's east coast. I'm an IB graduate. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've recently graduated from high school, and have been called to serve in the Santiago Chile West mission, Spanish speaking. For now I am working at McDonald's. I love to sing. I am currently in my ward choir, and a men's group that will be singing in the upcoming stake conference. I participated in the all city boy's choir when I was in elementary school, a youth choir for a few years, and after that ended I took voice lessons with the choir director, who is also my former Young Men's president. I've sang in talent shows, at funerals, and I also enjoy running. I took up running the summer after grade 9. From there I participated in cross country running and track and field throughout high school. I want to run a marathon once I finish my mission. As I've said before, I'm an IB graduate, and I'm also a seminary graduate.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but I have come to know it is true for myself. I have studied the Book of Mormon, and prayed to know it is true. When I prayed I felt the Spirit, but often when I read I feel the Spirit testify of truth. As I have applied the stories and teachings to my life, I have found that they are true. When I put my faith and trust in God, things always work out. When I pray with faith for help, I receive it. I have been comforted and filled with hope through prayer and the scriptures. I have felt happier as I have read from its pages every day. I know it is a book written by prophets inspired of God. I know the Bible is true, as far as it is translated correctly. I know the Savior lived and died for me, and I know I can rely on him to give me strength and comfort, for he felt the weight of all my sin, he suffered all that I have and more. He knows my pain and weakness perfectly, so he can help me to rise above it. I have received direction and strength in my life as I have humbled myself before God. I know that I can continue to receive guidance and strength in Chile as I serve as a missionary. Obedience to the laws of the gospel has brought me happiness and success. I know that God loves me, he has a perfect plan for me, and that he wants to reach my potential. He has always been there for me, and as I have let him into my life, I have had the greatest joy and peace. I know he loves all of his children, and I desire to share that message with everyone, and I do so in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I am a Primary Worker in my ward at church. I teach the 7 and 8 year olds. I have 2 boys and one girl in my class. We are learning stories from the Old Testament. We've had 5 lessons so far: Naaman is Healed; The Prophet Isaiah; Josiah and Ezra Read the Scriptures to the People; Esther Saves her People; Job. I have been able to share with them my testimony of our Heavenly Father, and his love for all of us. I have felt that love in my darkest and happiest days. I have the opportunity to hometeach with my father. I have been doing that with him since I was 13. I also hometaught with my grandfather. Being able to share what I have learned and know to be true about the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me happiness. I am sure I will feel even greater joy when I am able to share my joy and testimony with others in Chile.
